So, if you buy a separate plan for your senior citizen dependent parents and pay their premiums, you are eligible for an additional income tax deduction of INR 50,000. Thus, you can claim a deduction of up to INR 50,000 on the premiums you pay for yourself and your family and another INR 50,000 for premiums paid for your dependent parents.
